Bangalore-based Giftxoxo, a gifting company which also owns the mobile app Frogo, has acqui-hired Yipeedo, a startup focused on helping city dwellers to discover and book leisure activities. Besides, Yipeedo founders have joined Frogo to lead the product and operations teams.
Founded by Shalini Nautiyal and Dhiraj Kathuria, Yipeedo, was launched in its beta web version in mid-2014. The startup helps to manage multiple activities of a user into an experience that is personalized to meet the user’s lifestyle choices and preferences.
With this development, the founders of Yipeedo will bring the software product development experience to the Frogo team and lead the product together with the Giftxoxo founders. Shalini will join the board as Product Head while Dhiraj will take over as Technology Head.
Speaking on the development, Shalini Nautiyal, co-founder and CEO at Yipeedo said, “We felt an instant connect with the founding team of Giftxoxo and Frogo. As for Giftxoxo, the company was founded in 2012 by Sumit Khandelwal, Manoj Agarwal, Abhishek Kumar and Kushal Agrawal. The company’s efforts have been directed towards providing unique, exclusive and personalized experiences across various categories including gourmet, adventure, tours & getaways, health & wellness, arts & learning and philanthropy.
Giftxoxo is looking to take its gifting range of experiences and activities to a mass consumer market.
Recently, Giftxoxo launched an app called Frogo, which helps customers discover and book interesting activities, experiences and professionals around their city or travel destination.
