Japanese smartphone video ad platform, App-CM Inc., has tied up with GHV Accelerator for exploring market expansion and collaboration in India. The agreement is in a bid to boost growth for cross border ventures between India and Japan.

Through the collaboration, App-CM Inc. aims to expand its footprint in India, and yield collaborative expansion opportunities in Japan and other Asian markets for its prospective Indian partners.

Vikram Upadhyaya, Evangelist at GHV, said, “Asia is the next big destination for unicorns, mainly led by hi-tech driven companies. With this collaboration, GHV will bring Japanese technology to Indian and Asian markets and enable ventures from India to gear up and make the most of the thriving Asian markets.”

GHV aims to build a robust ecosystem for the Internet and mobile industries across Asia, as the Asian markets are currently on an upswing. As an aid to the endeavour, GHV led a conglomeration of 6 disruptive startups to Asia Leaders Summit in Bali.

The online and mobile advertising industry is currently witnessing a huge spurt across the globe and Asia is the next big market for digital content growth. India too is at the forefront, contributing to the growth in the digital advertising space. According to a report by GroupM, a global player in digital advertising, the advertising revenue in India was expected to be $8.1 Bn (INR 49,000 Cr) in 2015, compared to 12.6% growth over year 2014. By 2020, it is expected that mobile advertising will account for about 50% of the total ad spend in India, thus offering big opportunities.

Prior to this, Gurgaon-based startup accelerator, Green House Ventures (GHV), backed two startups, IStyleYou and AdUrCup, in its 12-month acceleration program. The accelerator offers the startups access to mentorship by eminent mentors from the industry, seed funding of $100K and a controlled environment for hockey-stick growth.

With the new inclusions, GHV now has 11 startups on board for its comprehensive acceleration program. The others are LazyLad, My Taxi India, Foodport, Pick My Laundry, FitMeIn, CaRPM, Applop, RoadGods and Pindrop.
