Bangalore-based online bike service and repairs platform, gear6.in, has raised $500K in a seed round funding from Ninestarter, an early-stage seed investment company.
Founded in 2016 by by Rakesh Vaddadi, Srikanth Nelakuditi, Kumud Kumar and Harrsha Chaittanya, gear6 is an online motorcycle repair and maintenance service that helps in easing the bike maintenance troubles.
The startup hopes to bring the whole two wheeler service sector online and simplify end-to-end bike maintenance which includes servicing, repairs, insurance, and emergency services. Besides, it also offers booking & order tracking system to help check the status of the service, make online payments, and have the bike delivered back within a guaranteed delivery window of 3 hours.
With over 100+ authorised service centers across nine motorcycle brands in Bangalore, gear6 has clocked around 1500 orders in the first three months.
How it works:
This recent round of funding will be used in marketing, expanding the customer base and bringing on board more service centers to increase reach in Bangalore. Rakesh Vaddadi, CEO at gear6, said, “The motorcycle maintenance landscape in the country is largely fragmented and un-organised, with a large disparity in rates, service quality & customer experience across garages and service centres. It’s to address this problem that we founded gear6.in”
Just last month, Bangalore-based bike and scooter repair service provider, DrivoJoy, raised about $600K (INR 4 Cr) in its Pre-Series A round of funding from Indian Angel Network and others.
