New Delhi-based foodtech startup FoodCloud has been inducted into the Start Up India Programme by the Government of India and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
“We are excited to be inducted into the Start Up India Programme and hope to use this recognition to build our company to great heights. We applaud the Government’s interest in startups as they are the backbone of a country such as ours and we hope to do our bit in whatever way we can,” said Vedant Kanoi, co-founder, FoodCloud.
FoodCloud was founded by serial entrepreneurs Vedant Kanoi and Shamit Khemka in September 2013. It is a service where users get home-cooked food prepared by professionals and chefs specialising in Chinese, Lebanese, Thai, Italian, Indian, Austrian, Mexican, and many other cuisines.
FoodCloud has been issued a Certificate of Recognition by the Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy as a startup.
The Start Up India programme was officially launched by Prime Minister Nardendra Modi in January this year. The initiative aims at fostering entrepreneurship and promoting innovation by creating an ecosystem that is conducive for growth of startups.
Earlier in April 2016, FoodCloud was accepted in the FB Start programme too.
In april 2016, another foodtech startup Petoo raised $1 Mn from early stage venture capital firm Axilor Ventures and some HNIs.
