Just imagine! you order a smartphone or a laptop or blender and company’s CEO himself coming to deliver the product.
How does it sound? It’s like asking for too much, right?
But, the homegrown ecommerce marketplace, Flipkart, has gone out of it’s way delivering products to the ‘Janta’.
Founders of Bangalore-based ecommerce giant, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal are today out for delivering products to the customers.
Sachin Bansal tweeted his excitement this morning while delivering packages to Bangaloreans.

Binny Bansal, co-founder of Flipkart said that for over next 15-20 days, everyone will go out and deliver products to customers, starting with them. Flipkart founders will be accompanied by Mukesh Bansal, who heads Flipkart’s ecommerce business, Punit Soni, chief product officer, Ankit Nagori, chief business officer and KV Anand, senior vice president, customer experience.
Bansal’s entry in Forbe’s rich list this year seems to sway the market with their new marketing stint. The company founders say that by doing this they are trying to gain insights into the online buyer’s psyche. The company had earlier also sent out 50K postcards to prospective buyers in some of India’s remotest areas, encouraging them to shop online.
Earlier this week, Flipkart kicked off its Big Billion Day sale while selling 10 lakh products in 10 hours. The company had also reported that over 3 Mn phones were sold on the first two days of the sale, and its traffic reached to 70 Mn visits, mainly through mobile app.
Hope this marketing stint comes out well for the homegrown ecommerce player!
Well it’s time for a new game!!!
