Kolkata’s location based hyper-local fashion search and review portal, Fashionove, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from cricketer Umesh Yadav, who plays for India & Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League (IPL).

The startup will use the funds for data collection and in streamlining its app.

Fashionove was founded in 2014 by Tanushree Khandelwal and Sharad Kumar. It is a fashion boutiques discovery, reviews, ratings and commerce portal. It lists and reviews fashion boutiques in a city to enhance their online visibility. For users, it offers a platform to discover fashion stores/products near their home in a city.

In simple words, the review portal is aiming to reduce ad costs of the fashion ecommerce portals by providing an organic traffic feed online.

The startup which is founded by former students of MICA, Ahmedabad is currently operational only in Kolkata and Mumbai. However, with the angel funding it is planning to start its operations in Delhi and Bangalore as well. Currently, Fashionove is operating with data on 800 boutiques in Kolkata.
