Education services provider in the pre-school segment, EuroKids International, has announced the launch of EuroVarsity, an online skill development platform.
According to Prajodh Rajan, co-founder & CEO of EuroKids International, “There is a constant need to skill young aspiring early childhood educators with the latest practices in the care, welfare and education of children. With EuroVarsity, it is our endeavour to equip aspiring educators with the latest knowledge and skills required to work with young ones.”
EuroVarsity will conduct various online courses. The first course that it plans to launch under its platform is a program focused on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCEd). This will be a nine-month online program that will equip learners with the right skill set to educate children up to the age of five years. The course will offer training through audio-video, tutorials, simulations and the VAK (Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic) training methodology.
EuroKids was started in 2001 and since then has established many high quality benchmarks for educating pre-school children. It runs 900+ pre-schools in over 350+ cities and towns in India and has enabled more than 500 entrepreneurs to build a long term successful business, 80% of them being women.
The pre-school education is an estimated $600 Mn (INR 4,000 Cr) market, and is expected to grow at 35% annually. However, millions of graduate students are unable to find employment opportunities due to skill deficiency. Currently, India faces a major challenge of imparting “employable skills”. By 2020, the country is expected to face a shortage of 13 Mn medium-skilled workers, posing a big impediment to labor-intensive sectors.
Recently, skill development and vocational training platform, EduBridge, raised $2.5 Mn (INR 17.1 Cr) in Series A round of funding.
