Bangalore-based Elanic, a women only P2P online marketplace for pre-owned goods, has raised seed funding from a round led by Rebright Partners, along with the participation of Tracxn Labs and an angel investor, Aneesh Reddy.
Currently, Elanic is in beta phase and is operating in Bangalore. However, with the newly acquired funds, it plans for a pan India expansion.
Palkush Rai Chawla, co-founder of Elanic, said, “Getting over a billion people to not hoard and start selling is a large scale problem. While online classifieds work for some categories, they don’t really work for fashion.”
Elanic was founded by Palkush Rai Chawla, Abhilash Narahari and Aditi Rohan in 2015. It is basically an online marketplace for selling and buying women’s pre-owned fashion goods, allowing users to buy goods right from their friend’s closet, along with serving as a destination to sell their own gently used apparel and accessories. For now, the app is available on invite-basis only.
