Edtech Accelerator EDUGILD Onboards 6 Startups For Third Batch

Global edtech startup accelerator, EDUGILD has announced the third batch of its accelerator programme. It will now mentor six edtech startups (3 from India and 3 from USA) from March 2017 onwards. The batch will undergo a diagnostic boot camp on March 3 and 4, 2017, in Pune.

Startups for the third batch were selected from more than 300 applications. In the third batch, there is one company each from Bengaluru, , Mumbai, and Delhi, New York, Boston, and San Francisco.

Commenting on the development, Rishi Kapal, Global Strategist and CEO, EDUGILD said, “Speed of creating and executing strategies is a key differentiator for our companies to scale up fast. We are here to create the right conditions for bringing out the best in our startups. The founders have way more potential than they know and we are here to make them exploit the capabilities to their full potential.”

Launched by MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions MIT Academy of Engineering, Edugild offers a 12-to-18 month revenue readiness and product realisation programme. EDUGILD conducts two batches every year. In the last 18 months, the accelerator has reportedly scaled 10 edtech companies, 7 from India, 2 from US, and 1 Russia.

The first batch concluded in February 2016 with four startups – Simulanis, Classboat, Gradopedia, and Instafeez. In September 2016, the second batch concluded with seven startups – Ahhaa.co, Edorble, Ekin Knowledge Enabled, ProctorEdu to name a few. Simulanis, Gradopedia and Classboat have already raised funds. Over the last 6 months, EDUGILD has also expanded its partnership horizons to cross borders with EPG UK, Edtech Israel, JMD EDU China, and also has strategic alliances in the US and Australia, as per an official statement.

This batch contain startups ranging from Augmented Reality, gamification, K-12 store front management, skill assessment, student motivation management, pre-school holistic programme on tech solutions, to name a few.

The Selected Startups Are:

Skillzot

Skillzot is founded by Sandeep Burman and Rommel Dongre. The Mumbai-based edtech startup helps learners improve behavioral science ideas. Through its technology, it helps teachers, institutes, trainers and instructors across disciplines to engage better with their students.

Skillsoniq

Skillsoniq is building a skill-based recruitment platform from New York. Founded by Abhinav Verma, the platform enables employers to easily compare skills of candidates through standardised tests and scores, analyse the learning journey of candidates, and recruit top talent faster…

Yoscholar

Founded by Gaurav Mehta and Amit Mishra, the Bengaluru-based startup is a platform that offers an entire gamut of products and services be a school’s store front. Started operations in February 2015, YoScholar.com is a brand of Agrim Education Services Private Limited. It aims  at providing convenient, comfortable, and door step services to fulfill parents and students’ needs.

ChangeMyPath

Change My Path provides a co-operative gaming framework to deliver interactive education and job skills training content. Founded by David Mandel and Zack Karlsson, this San Francisco-based startup has built a system of configurable game modules for job skills training.

Kids Triangle

Founded by Amit Kumar Yadav,  Kids Triangle offers scientific child development through technology, which focusses on the 360-degree holistic development of a child including healthcare, family care, and education. Based out of Boston, the startup enables personalised learning along with child healthcare including nutrition, diet, and hygiene.

Study Marvel

The Delhi-based Startup was founded by Yash Bodane and Soma Sharma. It is an augmented reality platform for the K-12 segment which lets users explore, visualise, and save digital models, image, video, hyperlinks in the physical space and superimpose storyboards and lessons practically anywhere on any object.
