Mumbai-based home healthcare services startup, Care24, has raised $4 Mn in a series A round of funding led by SAIF Partners and existing investor, India Quotient.

Founded in 2014 by Vipin Pathak, Garima Tripathi, Abhishek Tiwari and Pranshu Sharma, Care24, is a homecare platform which connects the caregivers and patients. The startup facilitates from prescription to complete recovery. Its services include nurse at home, physiotherapy at home, attendant at home and infant care services.

Care24 will use the raised capital for expansion in two phases. Firstly, it will consolidate its presence across the greater part of Mumbai. And secondly, it plans to expand to more cities in India where market research and groundwork has started.

So far, the startup has assisted 3,000 patients in their recovery process.

Speaking on the development, Vipin Pathak, co-founder & CEO at Care24 said, “In India, the home healthcare category is seeing a focus now and an investment in developing the standard customer-centric healthcare service delivery system is a must for achieving quality services at scale. Care24 intends on using the investment to boost its service quality, deepen its offerings while tapping the healthcare sector using technology innovations – to provide an integrated patient care.”

In October last year, Care24 had raised about $350K (INR 2.25 Cr.) in a funding round from India Quotient to train its on-boarded caregivers and expand to more localities in Mumbai.

Companies operating in this space include Accel and IFC backed Portea, while players like Apollo Hospitals, Dabur and Medwell Ventures are said to be big competitors of the portal.
