Bill Gates, Mohandas Pai And Others Invest In Global Accelerator, Capria

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Aarin Capital co-founders Ranjan Pai and TV Mohandas Pai have invested an undisclosed amount in Capria Accelerator.

Besides Aarin Capital and Bill Gates Investments, Capria has also raised funds from Crystal Springs Foundation, Lemelson Foundation, Unitus Labs among others.

US-based, Capria Accelerator, was founded by Dave Richards and Will Poole in September 2015. It is managed by global investment firm Capria. The founders have also co-founded, Unitus Seed Fund, a venture seed fund in India. The accelerator provides seed capital, mentoring, fundraising support, investment evaluation support, and access to a growing global network of early-stage fund managers.

Mohandas Pai, co-founder of Aarin Capital, said, “We’re firm believers in the importance of helping establish fund managers who will invest capital based on well-researched strategies and a passion for supporting entrepreneurs who will build large, profitable, and sustainable businesses. We’re excited to be investors in Capria, applying similar principles on a global basis.”

Capria invests and supports new fund managers investing in early-stage startups in markets including South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. It provides risk capital and significant multi-year acceleration services. In return it takes up a share revenues and profits from the created funds. The acceleration process is divided into five stages as specified in the image below:

 

At a minimum, fund management teams should have previous investing or entrepreneurial experience (10+ Years), an initial investment thesis and a proposed fund structure in order to be selected.
