Car Care Service Provider, Bumper, Raises Seed Fund From SAIF Partners

Bangalore-based Bumper, a car care service provider, has raised $500K (about INR 3.3 Cr.) in a seed round funding led by SAIF Partners.

Autoninja owned Bumper was founded in 2015 by Akhil Gupta, Rahul Bendre, Ashis Nayak and Kshitij Saxena. Autoninja is a startup that builds technology for auto retailers in India, and is currently working with 100 dealers across 26 major cities in India.

Bumper is an android-based app startup that helps consumers get an accurate quotes for any dent, paint or repair work. Besides, it also facilitates booking appointments in over 100 workshops in Bangalore for any car repairs and servicing needs like engine oil change, AC repair, wheel alignment/balancing, brakes overhaul, advanced car cleaning or washing etc.

Reportedly, the startup will utilise the raised funds to expand its team and enhance customer experience by providing efficient and effective end-to-end solutions for any car related services.

Speaking on the development, Akhil Gupta, co-founder at Bumper said, “There was a growing need for a comprehensive and trustworthy platform that could help car owners address all their car related requirements. Today, customers really don’t know which is the best workshop in town, or what really needs to be done to their car, and what is the right price for the same. We are trying to solve this problem by aggregating verified workshops and service providers.”

He further added, “Our app makes it very easy to discover the right solution for your car problem and track real time status as the job is being done. This funding will allow us to build a valuable team with deeper understanding and passion for cars so as to deliver quality service to its customers.”

Players in this space who have raised funds include, Bangalore-based automotive services marketplace startup Cartisan, raised an undisclosed round of funding led by YouWeCan Ventures and TaxiForSure’s co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna. While ecommerce marketplace for automobile parts & services, SparesHub, raised pre-series A round of funding.
