Hyperlocal Services Startup BookMeIn Raises $370 K From Ajmera Group of Companies

Mumbai-based hyperlocal services marketplace, BookMeIn, has raised $370K (INR 2.5 Cr) in an angel round of funding from Ajmera Group of Companies.

Started in 2014 by Siddharth Dalal along with Ekta Dalal, Nidhi Chandel and Chaitanya Chandel, BookMeIn provides hyperlocal service in four categories and 26 sub-categories including beauty & fitness, health & wellness, home & work and spirit & healing.

Users can book for hyperlocal beauty salons, restaurants, physiotherapists and more in Mumbai, Thane and New Mumbai vicinity using its web and mobile platform. BookMeIn also plans to add 15 to 20 new categories in by next month.

Siddharth Dalal, co-founder of BookMeIn said that the company plans to use the infused funds in ramping up customer acquisition and improving end-user experience.

The hyperlocal services marketplace, which holds $100 Bn market opportunity, has seen number of players operating in the segment.

According to startup industry tracker Tracxn, the home services industry in India saw about 69 startups founded in 2014 alone. Moreover, the sector has witnessed influx of funds from angel investors and institutional investors like SAIF Partners and Accel Partners.

In this domain, UrbanClap had recently secured $10 Mn from SAIF Partners and Accel Partners. Other players in the market include the likes of  UrbanPro, Zimmber, Findyahan and Taskbob.

Apart from serving general home services like plumbing, painting, electrical service, the industry also has home services for health, beauty, wellness and restaurants.
