BookEventz Raises Angel Funding From Mumbai Angels, Zishaan Hayath & Others

Mumbai-based BookEventz, an end-to-end service provider for event planning requirements, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding led by Mumbai Angels and prominent angel investors.

Singapore Angel Network and Zishaan Hayath also participated in this round.

The startup plans to use the funding to strengthen its technology back-end and push marketing campaign for the portal.

Started in 2012 as UrbanRestro, BookEventz is run by Urban Online Services Pvt. Ltd. The startup was founded by Shriti Chhajed and Harsh Baid. It claims to be India’s first online Venue booking platform that started with enabling individuals and companies to book all their F&B requirements like restaurant reservations or party bookings, online.

Shriti Chhajed, founder of BookEventz, said, “With this funding our aim is to develop a strong product enabling a seamless event booking process, making end users more comfortable doing it online than offline. Recently we have added 360 degree views of venues, reviews, detailed descriptions of approach, service, and ambiance for each of the venues. Also, we are increasing our service offerings for events such as artists, themes, caterers etc.”

BookEventz presently has over 2000 Vendors listed in 11 cities on its platform. The website says to have served 2,000 customers in Nov 2015 and over 100 bookings made with a gross merchandise value of over INR 1 Cr.

The company aims to serve monthly 20,000 customers bookings by July 2016.
