Mumbai-based brand licensing startup Black White Orange Brands has raised about $300K (INR 2 Cr.) in a funding round from Collaborative Licensing Ventures LLP.

This is the second funding round that the company has raised within a month of inception. Earlier this month, the company had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures. The round’s funds is going towards building its team.

Founded in June 2015 by Bhavik Vora, Black White Orange, provides merchandising solutions and helps brands, celebrities, media and retailers find ways to strengthen their relationship with consumers. The startup offers services in retail, distribution, syndication, brand consulting, brand loyalty strategies and creative solutions both within India and overseas.

Additionally, Black White Orange also looks at generating new revenue streams and creating brand loyalty strategies.

Speaking on the development, Bhavik Vora, chief executive of Black White Orange said, “Our business thrives on innovation, and currently there is so much untapped opportunity in this segment. We are constantly looking at collaborating with like-minded people who can not only add tremendous value to our business, but also come on board as strategic partners in growing this business.”

The raised funds will be used on creating original IPs in different segments, building a strong team across functions, acquisition of iconic international brands and to open up the international market for Indian IPs.

“We are in the business of brand licensing and IP creation and the foundation of this business is our ability to create high-quality creative assets, in order to translate these to various products, thus bringing the brand experience for fans on the ground. As our portfolio expands, there will be a constant need to build on this foundation and to also acquire cult international properties and bring them to India,” Vora said.

The startup counts brands like YouWeCan and US-based design house & licensing company bCreative as its key accounts to build brand licensing solutions for. The startup which is also associated with the popular TV show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is now planning to create its own IPs in the kids as well as youth space.
