Bessemer & Kae Invest $630K In On Demand Electronics Services Startup HandyHome

On-demand electronics services startup HandyHome has raised seed funding of around $630K (INR 4 Cr) from early stage Silicon Valley-based Bessemer Ventures and Mumbai-based Kae Capital.

Founded in 2015 by IIT-Bombay alumni, Bonish Gandhi, Kartikeya Datt, Harmin Shah, Manthan Shah, Aditya Gupta, and Akash Goel, HandyHome allows users to book brand-authorized repairs and other services for electronic appliances online. The startup claims to offer services in more than 500 cities in India along with serving more than 150 households every day.

With the raised funds the startup plans to enhance its technology, and expand its team. It also has plans to expand in 10 more cities in a couple of months.

Akash Goel co-founder said, “The whole idea behind starting HandyHome was building a powerful solution to the existing poor condition of after sales services in the country.”

US-based Bessemer Venture Partners has so far invested in more than 25 startups in India including Livspace, TaxiForSure, Snapdeal, Remedinet Technologies and Hungama Digital. Bessemer Venture Partners has invested in three startups viz. ReGlobe, Travel Triangle and Vidooly, after it raised $1.6 Bn (INR 10,000 Cr) for its IX Investment Fund of which tenth part of the total amount that is INR 1,250 Cr was dedicated for investments in India.

Mumbai-based seed and early stage venture capital firm Kae Capital has invested in around 18 companies including The PorterDailyRounds and Truly Madly.
