Bangalore-based BabyBerry, a mobile-based parenting app run by Cerebrahm Innovations Pvt Ltd, has raised $1 Mn in an angel round of funding led by industrialist Nitin Bagamane, reported E27.
Founded in 2014 by Balasubramanian Venkatachalam, Subhashini Subramaniam and Dev Vig, BabyBerry, is a child health and wellness platform. It helps new-age parents in providing the best possible environment for their child’s holistic growth and development.
The app comes with features like digital vaccination chart and reminders, WHO growth chart, milestone information, health records management and access to the nearest doctors based on geo-location. The milestone information covers all aspects of child development – physical, cognitive, social, emotional and language.
The platform also provides curated and personalised content from experts like paediatricians, nutritionists and psychologists. Currently, it claims to have over 50,000 downloads on Android as well as iOS platforms.
BabyBerry plans to use the money for product development and marketing.
The company has also added an ecommerce element to its platform, which is already live in Bangalore. “We do a constant analytics of orders received, and maintain inventory accordingly. For the same, we run a warehouse in the city. We will launch the ecommerce service across the country soon,” said Dev Vig, co-founder at BabyBerry.
Besides, the startup also looks to cater to expecting mothers and couples planning to go the family way. The company is partnering with domain specialists and wellness providers for assisting parents throughout their parenthood.
In January, mycity4kids, an online platform that helps multitasking mothers, had raised $3 Mn in Series A round led by SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd., and YourNest Angel Fund.
My Child App, an app that helps parents track developmental disorders in their child, had raised $100K in a seed round of funding earlier this year.
