Wedding services provider app, AppilyEver, has raised $400K (INR 2.7 Cr) in a seed round of funding from a group of angel investors, led by Varun Aggarwal, founder of Univariety.
Hyderabad-based AppilyEver was founded in 2015, by Rakesh Gupta and Sumit Handa. It provides a diverse suite of wedding solutions, spread across web, mobile app, and physical channels to assist the user.
The newly raised capital will be utilised for product development and marketing.
The Indian wedding market is pegged to be around $40 Bn and is ripe for disruption, as per lead investor and Univariety founder, Varun Aggarwal. He further said, “Current models of vendor listing or aggregation models have not made a dent. Wedding is a social occasion and AppilyEver’s approach of recreating the physical wedding on the app environment is hitting the sweet spot.”
The platform currently has over 2000 products and curates over 10 categories for planning a wedding. It allows users to send out invites, share updates and pictures, create events, and access relevant content.
Earlier this month, another online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, Weddingz.in, raised an undisclosed amount from consumer-focused venture capital firm Sixth Sense Ventures.
Other players int his segment include Myshaadi, BigIndianWedding, ShaadiSaga, and WedmeGood.com, etc.
