TV actor Anita Hassanandani’s husband Rohit Reddy has picked up a large stake in an upcoming online startup called TheBagTalk.com. The portal has partnership with High Spirit Commercial Ventures in Mumbai, a bag manufacturer and exporter which retails its label, priority bags, through offline retail chains.

Through this portal, Anita would be designing and launching her own line of signature bags for women. “I am excited to be a part of this business venture. Rohit feels I have a good taste and this venture should work for both of us. This was an unexpected gift, I am very excited about it,” said Anita. (This would be a gift for Anita who turns 35 this month).

Apart from this, the venture will also offer signature lines from other television celebrities such as Ekta Kapoor and trekking & adventure gear from Rannvijay of MTV Roadies.

Owned by Hassanandani and Tushar Jain of HSCV, TheBagTalk.com, would retail all kinds of bags online and would have its in-house designing, manufacturing, and warehousing capabilities across India and China. The venture was created with a seed capital of about $600K (INR 4 Cr.) with contract manufacturing from HSCV’s current set-up.

“The transaction will be completed on our online portal to begin with. We are looking into a compelling online-offline integrated model, where customers could touch and feel the products before confirming their purchase. Assisted ecommerce model is also something we are considering as well as same day delivery through our retail partners,” said Rohit Reddy, CEO of TheBagTalk.com.

“The company already has established presence across 43 locations in the country with its own depots. This would facilitate quick delivery and easy returns for the customers,” added Reddy.
