Amazon India has announced the launch of Kindle Unlimited in the country.
Kindle Unlimited is a subscription service that allows its users to pick and read books from over a million Kindle books at a monthly fee of $3 (INR 199).
India is the first Asian country to get this service. Presently, the service is available in countries like US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Canada.
The readers can freely read the books across genres of literature, fiction, health, productivity, business, economics, biographies and others. To lure the Indian audience, Amazon has brought books by popular writers like Chetan Bhagat, Amish Tripathi, Robin Sharma, Ashwin Sanghi, Rashmi Bansal and Preeti Shenoy under this umbrella.
Amazon has taken care of the startup community as well, by providing gamut of books on startups and entrepreneurs. Some of these books have Kindle Unlimited tag, which can be read for “free” with monthly or annual subscription.
To sign up for six months subscription readers need to pay INR 999 and INR 1799 for 12 months subscription. The company has kept an early bird offer as well wherein readers can get their first month of subscription for only INR 99 by visiting www.amazon.in/kindleunlimitedget it half price.
In the Kindle subscription the readers can keep upto 10 books at a time with no due dates, which can be read on Android and iOS platform across devices like iPhone, iPad, Android tablets, phones and PC having free Kindle app.

- Short reads from popular authors like Stephen King and Susan Hill.
- Popular Kindle features which includes books like Whispersync, Popular Highlights, X-Ray and customer reviews.
