Amazon Launches Amazonbasics In India To Expand Its Consumer Electronics Store

Ecommerce marketplace Amazon India announced the launch of its private label brand AmazonBasics in a bid to expand its Consumer Electronics store.

AmazonBasics will offer a range of high quality digital and home accessories for customers to enjoy greater selection of high-quality products at value pricing.

The AmazonBasics line in India will have products like Apple-certified lightning cables, data cables for Android devices, audio video cables and adapters. Going ahead, the product line will be rapidly expanded to reflect the global selection.

Samir Kumar, VP Category Management at Amazon India, said that AmazonBasics is created with a vision of providing best combination of selection and price to customers.

Products offered on AmazonBasics will come with one-year warranty and will be eligible for expedited deliveries. It will also feature customer reviews and other information.

AmazonBasics is targeting to offer an enhanced customer experience through a wide range of products in its portfolio.

AmazonBasics, which was launched in the US in 2009, is one of Amazon’s private label brand in the electronics category. It consists of products that are available across most of Amazon’s global marketplaces.

Amazon offers more private labels like Pinzon for kitchen gadgets, Strathwood for outdoor furniture, and Pike Street for bath and home products in the US.

Apart from Amazon, its biggest competitor Flipkart too has various private label brands under various categories. Flipkart offers Citron for its home appliances and personal health care category, Flippd for apparels and Digiflip in consumer electronics category.
