App-based food delivery aggregator KhanaGaDi has raised an undisclosed amount on funding from Hyderabad-based 50K Ventures.
Founded in June 2015 by Amit Deep Kumar, KhanaGaDi is a 360 degree online food delivery platform aimed at providing simplified food delivery solutions to consumers anytime and anywhere, it provides its food delivery services in trains, buses and at home.
KhanaGaDi offers its Meal on seat Services at more than 150 Stations across 3500 trains with over 12,000 menu items. It also provides home delivery and homemade food services in Jaipur city and soon planning to launch its services in Gurgaon, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Dubai, and Kuwait city. The startup is also planning to start its Bus Delivery services in Jaipur-Delhi and Pune-Mumbai Route by October end. KhanaGadi aims to serve 1,000 customers in a day by next year.
50K Ventures’ managing partner Sanjay Enishetty said, “KhanaGaDi has hand-picked the particular space where travellers truly undergo a great deal of struggle to find decent food. With KhanaGaDi solving such a major issue that most of the Indians face, it will be a major game changer in the railway meal delivery space.”
The startup aims to utilise the funding to expand its station network, aggressive marketing strategy and for building the right team at suitable places.
Other startups in this segment include Travelkhana, Mera Food Choice, Trainkhana, Yatrachef, Railtiffin, Travelzaika, Idlywada, etc.
Prior to this, in April 2016, Shuttle service provider Commut raised $200K from 50K ventures.
