Held in various parts of the APAC region physically until 2019, AWS has moved its summit online this year
The AWS Summit Online 2020 aims to help both a new user and an experienced one, gain new and deeper insights into cloud technology benefits and use cases
The summit is scheduled to be held on May 13, 9 am IST onwards
The spread of coronavirus and the resultant near-global lockdown has led to all businesses, big or small, shifting to virtual workplaces and remote operations. With even consumers moving to online businesses for grocery and other essentials, businesses have been compelled to leverage cloud technology to scale infrastructure, access critical security applications and more. Needless to say, understanding this technology and how to make the best use of it has become vital for survival and sustainability today. And this is where Amazon Web Services (AWS), is aiming to make a difference with its AWS Summit Online 2020.
The summit, which was slated to be held as a physical event at various locations across the Asia Pacific region has now turned into an online conference to help businesses through this tough period. Last year, AWS claims to have engaged over 7K developers, entrepreneurs and product managers at AWS Summit Mumbai, and this year, it plans to take that number up to over 17K from India alone.
Over the past decade, the rise of the internet economy in India has seen major adoption of cloud computing services as startups and businesses look to build their tech stacks for various sectors. Helping them gain new insights and a deeper understanding of cloud technology, tech stacks and more, AWS Summit Online 2020 will cover a wide range of topics under various heads such as ‘Innovation with Amazon’, ‘Modern Application Development’, ‘Building Applications At Scale’ and more.
To be held on May 13, at 9 AM (IST), the AWS Summit will give attendees a platform to understand what cloud computing and Amazon’s partner ecosystem can offer new-age businesses as well as SMBs. Besides introducing the services, the summit will also answer some of the most pressing questions about cloud computing.Register For The Summit Now!

AWS Summit Online 2020 Agenda
The sessions of the summit cover a broad range of topics including machine learning, migration, data and analytics, enterprise and more. These are clubbed into various heads for different business needs. The sessions cover topics such as:
Innovation With Amazon
Using Data And ML To Innovate
A part of the Level 100 sessions, this topic aims to shed light on the importance of collecting real-time and historical data and using machine learning (ML). It talks about the use of both data and ML to help businesses innovate at a faster pace and more efficiently for their customers. Glenn Gore, Worldwide Lead Solutions Architect, AWS will lead this session and delve into his own experiences while working on Amazon.com, Amazon Alexa and Amazon Robotics.
Trends With Data Lakes And Analytics
An intermediate-level session, this talk will help attendees discover the key trends in analytics and data lakes for structured analysis. Additionally, it provides insights into how AWS customers are leveraging analytics platforms to drive innovation, build data-driven products and transform the customer experience.
Realising The Business Value Of Modernising
While most organisations have learned that cloud deployment brings business savings, they haven’t moved much beyond just that. The Level 200 sessions are exactly targetted at this audience. This session will act as an introduction to the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), which can help organisations to not only quantify cost savings, but also see the value of business agility, operational resilience, and staff productivity.
Modern Application Development
Delivering Container-native Applications Without Managing Servers
This advanced-level session introduces and explains AWS Fargate—a completely serverless, container-native compute engine. Without the hassle of requiring users to provision, scale or manage servers, AWS Fargate works with Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS)—a highly scalable, fast, container management service—and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS)—a fully-managed Kubernetes service. This session allows attendees to learn the ins and outs of designing and delivering a scalable and secure modern application on AWS Fargate as well as leveraging the AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) to define reusable cloud components.
Machine Learning – Track 2
DevOps For Data Science: Operationalising ML
Among the expert-level talks, this session acknowledges the rise in understanding of cross-functional expertise and efficient tooling among businesses bringing AI-driven products to market. Further to that, it helps these organisations gain knowledge of building an end-to-end pipeline for delivery of ML models and automating ML operations with Amazon SageMaker and more.
