“You don’t have to look like George Clooney. You just have to know yourself.”
This is a simple to understand, yet the most underestimated statement in the present era. Majority of us are just running aimlessly to put themselves in the shoes of other successful people, nearly forgetting WHO THEY ARE and WHAT THEY CAN DO.
In this podcast, Gary Vaynerchuk visits the Business Insider offices with Alyson Shontell and talks about how his childhood influenced the entrepreneur he has become. “My kids are going to find it harder to become successful than I did,” he says. Gary explains the version of capitalism in America that is being played out over the last 50 years and how immigrants have influenced it. Education was a key driver for these immigrants to progress quickly.
In contrast, Gary revealed, “I was a very poor student. Which is very unusual for an immigrant. But I knew that I had it…I eventually found out that I’m a good salesman…I’m a good operator…I am a good entrepreneur so yeah, it’s a DNA thing with me.”
Gary also mentioned about exploring business opportunities in your own way, FIGURING OUT WHO YOU ARE and to grow naturally, WITHOUT APOLOGISING FOR WHO YOU ARE.
Gary also believes that in next 10 years almost every person would start doing this as this is the most practical thing. “I am built on Emotional Intelligence, I am not the smartest, I just know what people gonna do.”
During the podcast, he also highlighted that most of the time people remained circled with lots of negative thinkers around them, which certainly affect their mindset. They might be your friends or relatives who have to spend all their time to make sure you are not going to the next level. Instead of letting such people in, its time that you must audit your mind, get rid of negative thinkers around you and try to spend a day with a more positive person.
