Zomato-backed logistics and fulfillment startup Shiprocket has completed the acquisition of Arvind’s omnichannel technology business – Omuni. The deal will be a combination of stock and cash for a consideration of INR 200 Cr.
As per the BSE filings submitted by Arvind, the acquisition will help both the companies to facilitate quick, efficient deliveries of shipments from the nearest store of warehouse, thus reducing delivery timelines and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Headquartered in Bengaluru, Omuni is an omnichannel retail platform that claims to help global brands run over 5,000 stores. Founded in 2014, Omuni offers discovery, selling, and assisting platforms to its clients such as Omuni.suite, Omuni.space, Omuni.xyz, Omuni.mobi, and Omuni.one.
Omuni claims to have done over 11 Bn of GMV orders, helped more than 100 brands, and has empowered more than 10K stores in the country.
It has worked with brands such as Mufti, Vero Moda, Arrow, GAP, among others in the country. Delhivery, Ekart, Shadowfax, Blowhorn are among some of the major logistics partners Omuni works with.
With these acquisitions, Shiprocket has till now acquired five startups including Pickrr, Wigzo, Glaucus, and Rocketbox. Reportedly, the startup is also in talks to acquire the Indian business of Shyplite.
Shiprocket, which had raised $185 Mn from Zomato and Temasek among others at the end of the last year, has also been on an investment spree. The startup has this year invested in firms such as Woovly, Eat better, BoldCare, EvenFlow, and Logibricks, among others.
Founded in 2017 by Saahil Goel, Vishesh Khurana, Gautam Kapoor, and Akshay Gulati, Shiprocket claims to be helping 2.5 Lakh sellers with their logistics demands. The startup states that it packages to more than 70 Mn consumers annually.
