Amid strong advisories to avoid travel to stop the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, businesses have been taking up the charge to help in the prevention of the coronavirus outbreak by asking employees to work from home. In this light, and to further ensure the processes are streamlined, Indian SaaS company Zoho has offered its Zoho Remotely product for companies across the world for free during this outbreak.

Google has also allowed over 100K employees in the US to work remotely, At present, India has over 60 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 9.41 Lakh people have been screened at airports.

Chennai-headquartered Zoho had made work from home its default policy last week and is now offering the same tools it uses to run remote operations to its business partners and clients for free temporarily. Zoho Remotely includes a selection of apps that help manage several different components of business communication. Together, this advanced software suite will enable communication and collaboration between colleagues and customers.

Under Zoho Remotely, the company is offering services for these requirements for free till July 1:

  • Meetings: Cliq provides an array of communication options — chat, audio or video — allowing discussions on important matters with teammates or customers alike. Zoho Meeting or Zoho ShowTime is web conferencing and training tools which make it possible to hold group communication.
  • Collaboration Tools: Collaborative team spaces designed for remote work, such as Zoho WorkDrive; for project management, for the waterfall method, it offers Zoho Projects, and for agile project management, it suggests Zoho Sprints.
  • Remote Assistance: Zoho Assist is a cloud-based remote support and access app that helps you troubleshoot and correct issue from a distance through web-based, on-demand support sessions. Zoho Lens uses augmented reality to help service technicians do their jobs better.
  • Productivity: Zoho Writer is a word processing app that enables colleagues to offer remote feedback, Zoho Sheet makes spreadsheet creation easier by letting collaborators contribute data in real-time.

As the coronavirus outbreak grips the Indian economy, efforts are focussed around prevention as a cure remains far from reach. At the same time, there are customer-facing businesses like Swiggy, Zomato, Ola, Uber and others which haven’t done enough to keep their drivers and delivery executives informed about the coronavirus and the measures they need to take to prevent the spread.
