Zepo Raises Funding From Anupam Mittal, CEO of People Group & One97 Mobility Fund

Mumbai-based Zepo.com, a do-it-yourself (DIY) ecommerce platform for SMBs, has raised an undisclosed amount in funding led by Anupam Mittal, CEO of People Group, with One97 Mobility Fund also participating in the round. Zepo plans to use the funds raised to expand its presence in existing markets as well as to explore new overseas markets.

Anupam Mittal said, “Zepo has the potential to emerge as one of the few superstar SaaS companies from India. The market is huge and we are still at ground zero. With the funding round, we are expected to further consolidate the leadership in this category.”

Zepo was founded in 2011 by Nitin Purswani who had earlier founded two startups Bijess.in, a platform that helps bloggers setup their ecommerce stores, and Avatar T Shirts.

Zepo works on a monthly subscription model and also have a half yearly & annual plans. Their plans start at approximately 949 per month and go up to 5000 per month.

The startup currently has 3 offices, one in Mumbai, one in Delhi and another Bangalore and a team of about 40-50 people that manages everything for their 2000+ paid clients.

Zepo competes with KartRocket.com, MartMobi, Shopify and CostPrize.
