Yuvraj Singh-backed Healthtech startup Healthians has raised INR 85 Cr ($12 Mn) in Series B round led by Japan-based DG Incubation and DG Daiwa Ventures. Other investors included Kotak PE, Trifecta, Tokio Marine and Singapore-based fund Mistletoe.
Healthians, which offers healthcare services at home or off-clinic, is planning to use the funds to expand its geographical presence and penetrate deeper into the cities it already operates in. In addition, it plans to enhance its technological capabilities and introduce new products for the users.
“We are not just focusing on large cities but will continue to take our services to many more tier II and tier III cities which are in need of affordable, fast and accurate diagnostic services” said Deepak Sahni, founder and CEO of Healthians, in a press statement.
Founded in 2015 by Deepak Sahni, Healthians is a Gurugram-based healthtech that helps users to discover affordable healthcare and ensure price and quality transparency. It is a medical tests aggregates, which bring diagnostic labs, crowdsourced sample collectors, and nearby doctors on one platform.
In 2019, the company has managed to expand to over 30 cities and is now prepping up to penetrate deeper into these cities by 2021. Moreover, it claims to have over 7.5 Lakh customers and offers them insights on how to improve their lifestyles by running an AI-backed algorithm.
The company is creating a Healthians branded lab network in association with diagnostics labs, which will offer standardised pricing, processes, and user experience. So far, it has set up more than 16 lab networks and is planning to add additional 50 cities to its portfolio in the next 12 months.
In 2016, the company had raised INR 20 Cr ( $3 Mn) in Series A round from another Japan-based investor BEENEXT. Japanese incubator Digital Garage and BEENOS had also participated in the funding round.
For seed investment, the company got cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures, Taxi-ForSure co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna and Bessemer Venture Partners MD Subramanya SV on board.
Healthians works with a certified and trained team of sample collectors for home collections and tests this samples at its specialised Healthians labs.
Other diagnostic chains in direct competition of Healthians include Dr. Lal PathLabs, Fortis Healthcare-controlled SRL, and Dalmia Medicare.
