In the last two articles I presented the way founders behave when they receive funding and when they attend networking events but today I spare them and show you a different side of the story. Anyway, there are three sides to anything – your side, their side and then there are screenshots!

Let’s talk about how the employees perceive it when the founders say they are the youngest in the company. “Reverse mentoring” is a concept which has been there for quite some time now, but startups live by them.

Almost every second startup will have that one co-founder who will be the youngest member of the team.

And trust me, more than anyone else, if you are a founder and that too youngest in the team – you have to go through a lot of stuff on a daily basis. This is apart from the work that you are doing.

Here are a couple of instances which show the plight of a founder who is the youngest in the team:

When you tell that candidate who has come for an interview, “Now the founder will meet you”. He/She is expecting some serious-looking, grey-haired, well-dressed person to come and meet. But they get to see someone younger to themselves.

“You haven’t done this as extensively I have…” So let me teach you.

..now this 22-year guy will tell me, how things are done.

Lekin kuch toh kiya hoga…that he is the founder and my employer! #Respect
