Mumbai based startup accelerator programme, VentureNursery has announced the names of the startups that made it to its seventh batch. From over some 450 applications received from multiple cities across the country, two startups, namely Yipeedo.com and Fixy.in, make it to the list. The programme is scheduled to start this month and conclude by May 2015.
More about the startups that were selected in this batch :
Founded back in March 2012 by angel investors Shravan Shroff, founder and former MD of Fame Cinemas; and Ravi Kiran, former CEO – Southeast and South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group and also the co-founder and managing partner of Friends of Ambition, VentureNursery is an accelerator programme that focuses mainly on six sectors – media and entertainment, retail, ecommerce, consumer technology, education and cleantech. Its portfolio includes startups such as Oravel.com, Klip.in, Interview Master, Smart Sample, The Venturator and Peter’s Pan besides others.
VentureNursery till date has accelerated 16 startups, 10 of whom have subsequently secured seed funding. Each year, the accelerator conducts at least two boot-camps in Mumbai and aims to nurture up to eight startups in each of its programmes. After conclusion of the programme, graduating startups are evaluated for investment.
Previously, in its sixth batch, the two startups that were selected were SaaS platform Whateo.com and at-home health services provider The Home Salon.
