Wipro has launched Wipro ai360, a comprehensive, AI-first innovation ecosystem that will integrate AI into every platform, tool, and solution used internally and offered to the clients. In addition to this, Wipro also committed to making a $1 Bn investment in improving AI capabilities over the next three years.
The company stated that Wipro ai360 will bring together the 30,000 data analytics and AI experts to Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem from the company’s global business lines.
This investment is expected to unleash a new era of value, productivity, and commercial opportunities for the company.
Commenting on the development, Wipro’s CEO and MD Thierry Delaporte said that AI is moving at a fast pace and soon, due to the emergence of generative AI, a fundamental shift may be noticed.
“This is exactly why Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem places responsible AI operations at the heart of all our AI work. It’s meant to empower our talent pool and be ubiquitous across all our operations and processes, as well as our solutioning for clients. We are ready for the AI-driven future,” he added.
To execute the plans of embedding AI into all the business processes, Wipro is going to leverage capabilities across cloud and partnerships, data, analytics and AI, design and consulting, and cybersecurity.
The company claims that this new business model for the global operations is going to enable new levels of agility, speed, and depth in delivery. Further, the tech giant stated that this investment will help Wipro to improve its AI, data analytics capabilities, R&D, etc.
Wipro also announced that in future, it will extend support to the tech startups through its accelerator programme Wipro Ventures, and launch GenAI Seed Accelerator program to offer market ready training to the startups using GenAI.
To achieve all the goals, the company is going to train all of its employees on the fundamentals of AI and its uses over the next one year.
Wipro has been actively looking forward to the adoption of AI. Earlier in December 2022, the company acquired AI startup LineCraft for an undisclosed amount.
Other than AI, the company’s consumer care vertical had invested in D2C startup LetsShave this year; while in 2021, it made investments in another D2C startup SoulFlower.
