Mumbai based Web-only merchandising brand VoxPopClothing has raised $1 Mn ( INR 6 Cr.) led by existing investor Blume Ventures, says ET.

The raised funds will be utilised to increase product category in higher margin products, ramp up team and widen brand partnerships.

Siddharth Taparia, who was earlier executive director at Walt Disney, launched VoxPopClothing last year. The startup develops and retails limited edition T-shirts in partnership with global and domestic entertainment and sports brands like Disney, Marvel and Mumbai City Football Club. Customers can find merchandise of their favourite stars, characters and stories on VoxPop or on other marketplaces.

It has has created t-shirts of superhero characters like Batman, Spiderman, Avengers, Captain America, Game of Thrones, Superman, Ironman.

Currently, portal witnesses about 200 transactions per day, and going forward it plans to reach 1 Cr. in monthy sales by December.

“The company has shown that there is a tremendous market among younger consumer target group and we believe that the business is already on a path to being a multi-100 crore brand,“ said Karthik Reddy, managing partner at Blume.

Voxpopclothing had raised a funding round led by Blume and a few other undisclosed Indian and global strategic investors of $400k (INR2.4 Cr.) last year.

Apart from retailing merchandise of well-known brands, VoxPopClothing also allows designers to upload designs, which are executed by it for a commission, this is a similar model which fan merchandising store Bluegape offers. Individuals can also upload designs and get them printed on t-shirts for a fee.

Blume has also invested in startups including GreyOrange, Mettl, WeAreHolidays among others.
