This Video Of Google’s Self-Driving Car Navigating The City Streets Will Blow Your Mind

It’s a known fact that Google’s fleet of self-driving cars have already logged more than 700,000 miles, and they’ve evolved

To celebrate this moment, Google has released a new video in it’s blog post that demonstrates some amazing software improvements that have been made over the last two years. The self-driving cars can now track hundreds of objects simultaneously, including pedestrians, an indicating cyclist, a stop sign held by a crossing guard, or traffic cones. This video is really one of the coolest video I have seen in the tech space.

Google strongly believes in the precept that ‘Great is not good enough’. In aligning towards this belief, the company has a strong strategy in place to innovate and disrupt new technologies while at the same time ensuring continuous revenue stream. Google says it still has lots of problems to overcome before its cars are ready to move on from their home town of Mountain View, California. Though Google is  getting better with this self-driving technology, but I still think we’re years away from self-driving cars. There are so many unpredictable things that can happen when you’re driving. 

It will be interesting to see what the future of driving will become. Technology has a dangerous side, but this is the beautiful side where we get to save lives and commute more efficiently. Driving will turn into a completely different experience when you aren’t really responsible for much of the function.Someday, it will be okay to text and drive. Or eat and drive. Or even sleep and drive. Someday your car will do everything it takes to be and operate a car, while you can go about your business doing what you do. Just like how you set your coffee maker.
