California-based gaming PC company CyberPowerPC has forayed into the Indian market through a joint venture with Indian firm Creative Newtech, marking the establishment of CyberPowerPC India.
Now, it will introduce its lineup of gaming rigs and gaming configurators in the country.
CyberPowerPC, a market leader in the US, has partnerships with prominent brands such as Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Zotac, Kingston, Western Digital, Cooler Master, Adata, Phanteks and Lian Li.
The joint venture has tapped Vishal Parekh, former marketing head of NODWIN Gaming, as the brand’s COO in India and will lead its operations in the country.
“We have been keenly observing the Indian gaming market for a while, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to launch in the country. The Indian gaming market is poised for exponential growth, and we believe our more than 25 years of experience and expertise will contribute to this growing industry. CyberPowerPC is set to elevate the Indian gaming experience to new heights,” said Eric Cheung, founder and CEO of CyberPowerPC.
This comes at a time when the Indian digital gaming industry is projected to more than double, reaching $7.5 Bn by FY28, driven primarily by the growth in in-app purchases, ad revenues and an expanding user base.
India was home to 568 Mn gamers in FY23, of which 25% were paying users.
Moreover, the upcoming years are anticipated to witness springtime for gaming studios in India. Investors will be seen tilting towards these segments amid expectations of them becoming the primary growth drivers for gaming revenue in India next year.
Recently, LightFury Games, a gaming startup floated by Unacademy’s former chief marketing officer and partner Karan Shroff, secured $8.5 Mn (INR 71.1 Cr) in its seed funding round led by Blume Ventures.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to develop AAA games in India, with an initial focus on mobile gaming before expanding to other platforms, including consoles.
Meanwhile, the growth of gaming laptops for brands like HP is also increasing in India gradually. Regarding PC adoption, the contribution of gaming to the overall industry has been steadily increasing.
