Venture seed fund-Unitus Seed Fund has recently announced that it led the seed round investment in Curiositi and Cue Learn Pvt. Ltd. Unitus seed fund was assisted by Unitus Capital that acted as the financial advisor and Impact Law Ventures that was the legal advisor on this transaction. The amount of funding is still undisclosed in both the transactions.

Curiositi is focused on delivering innovative and impactful educational solutions to schools across the price spectrum. Founded in July 2013, Bangalore-based education startup Curiositi partners with schools to help transform their science curriculum into an exciting, activity-based experience and that too at affordable costs.

With over 15 years of experience in Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operational roles across 4 countries, Vinod Abraham, IIM-B Alumnus and Manoj Thandadessary, XLRI alumnus founded Curiositi which offers products that can be tailored to all budgets, and covers 80 topics across all branches of science. Since January 2014, the startup has tied-up with 26 schools across 6 locations, reaching to over 6000 students and receiving commitments for over 9000 kits.

After-school tuitions available in the market at the moment lack the affordability for low and mid-income households besides being unable to teach students in an individualistic manner. Founded in 2013 by Manan Khurma and Jagjit Khurma, Delhi Based Cue Learn is trying to tap the potential of this fragmented 150 lakh crore tutions market and is providing after-school learning programs for Math and English with a unique distribution model which taps the incremental efforts of women and senior citizens with basic academic backgrounds, and backs them with custom-designed learning materials.

Just within an years of its inception, Cue Learn today has over 25 operational learning centers which basically are small, home-based setups, with no more than 8 students in each session, ensuring personalized attention to the needs of each learner. Unlike traditional tuitions providing models, this startup is capital efficient and highly scalable and has already started delivering superior learning outcomes that too at affordable costs.

Cue Learn plans to direct the new funds towards expanding operations to multiple states across India and also towards increasing the no. of it products.

Founded in 2012, Bangalore and Seattle based Unitus Seed Fund had raised funding from Bill Gates recently in the offshore fund of Unitus Seed fund. The offshore fund now has 50 investors and $17 Mn of assets under management.
