Delhi and street food share decades of history together. Latter is a part of the national capital’s cultural image. Chandni Chowk is the place one should head for to taste the classics of Delhi’s street food life but travelling to old Delhi for a plate of “chat” or “Jalebi” is not possible always. Seasonal challenges such as bitter cold in winters or water filled roads during monsoon makes it even more tougher to satisfy the urge of the tongue and the belly.

But there is an ecommerce company who understands unparalleled love of Delhites for street food and thus it is trying to bridge the gap between food and foodies. We are talking about Tradus.com, online marketplace, who recently launched “Online street food festival” . Under the campaign the website has listed some renowned street food vendors of Chandni Chowk, with assured same day delivery of orders placed before 11 am.

The service is limited to Delhi customers and as we look around the festival page only 9 shops are being listed so far for now, hope the web-store is going to add more soon.

The store is providing all major modes of payment including the cash on delivery as well but to point out on every shop’s page, seller is coming out to be “Antraadotcom” which creates confusion in the minds of the buyers on who is actually selling and delivering the product. Antradotcom on the contrary is listed as another seller on Tradus which is selling watches, rings etc. though a line on the seller page of the food shops do mention “Sold By : Antraadotcom (Door Delivery in Today) which looks like is delivering products for them.

In short, now food loving “janta” of Delhi can order all the delicacies of old Delhi by just making few clicks and enjoy it in winters, monsoons or summers at their comfort. Lets hope the marketplace delivers it hot and crispy in time. If things work well, we hope it will be a big leap forward for local commerce in perishable goods category.
