TLabs Hosts 43North, The Organizers Of World’s Largest Business Plan Competition with $5Mn Cash Prizes

11 startups, $5 Mn of cash prize, 1 year of acceleration in New York, tax-free operation for companies in New York state for 10 years, exciting?

We are talking about 43North, part of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion initiative and the company behind, World’s Largest Business Plan competition, who is on a hunt for 11 startups from across the globe. The selected batch will enjoy cash grants, support, mentorship, incubator space and lot more.

We are happy to announce that in support with Inc42 Magazine, TLabs, the startup accelerator and part of Times Internet, is hosting team 43North, on 6th May, to help them reach startups in India. Indian startups will have a chance to mingle with the organizers of this awesome initiative and understand more about the program.

Prizes And Rewards

The first team will take home cash of $1 Mn, next six teams will be awarded with  $500,000 of cash and the last four teams with $250,000 awards. Winners will also receive free incubator space for a year, guidance from mentors related to their field and access to other exciting incentive programs, like Startup NY, a program that enables companies to operate tax-free in New York State for 10 years.

The top 11 business ideas put forward during finals week in Buffalo, October 27-31, 2014, will receive these cash awards.

MeetUp At TLabs

To invite Indian startups and to spread the word, 43North is coming to India. TLabs, startup accelerator located in Noida, is hosting team 43North on 6th may. Andrew J. Pulkrabek, Executive Director, 43 North, will be explaining about the startup ecosystem in US and about the initiative.

During this meetup, the #startups will have the opportunity to engage with 43North executives and global startup experts to learn how #entrepreneurs can seek capital and successfully be funded to start their venture. Additionally, executives will provide tips and answer questions on how to approach the three independent rounds that comprise the 43North competition.

To help startups scale their business, Balaji Chakravarthi, industry veteran and sales expert will take a one hour workshop on Sales/Business Development in the event itself.

Details of the competition

Who Can Apply?

43North is open to applicants ages 18 and older, from anywhere in the world, in any industry, with the exception of retail and hospitality.

How To Enter?

One can apply for the competition online by May 31, 2014 at 43North.org.

Applications will be vetted by a judging panel, with finalists coming to Buffalo in October to make presentations. The competition will culminate on Oct. 30 with a large grand-scale finale where winners will be announced.
