Following the grand launch of the Apple store in BKC, Mumbai on Tuesday, Tim Cook has launched the second Apple Store at Saket, Delhi today.

The barricade of Apple Saket features a unique design inspired by the heritage and historical gates of Delhi, each signifying a new chapter to the city’s storied past.

At Apple Saket, customers will walk through a uniquely designed curved storefront with white oak tables displaying Apple’s products and accessories, as well as a feature wall manufactured in India. The store features a dedicated Apple Pickup station from which customers ordering products online can collect the same at their convenience.

Commenting on the inauguration of the second Apple store in India, Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s SVP, Retail said, “Our incredible team members look forward to connecting with the local community and helping them find new ways to pursue their passions and unleash their creativity through our amazing products and services.”

At this store, to avail hands-on technical and hardware support, customers can make reservations at the ‘Genius Bar’ and seek technicians’ help. In this section, customers can access all kinds of support, from setting up a device to recovering Apple ID.

According to the official release, the store will host a regular free session titled ‘Today’ over a roundtable setup for inspiration and education for the customers as well as photographers, musicians, artists, and all other forms of local talent.

Like Apple BKC, the Saket store will also operate on 100% renewable energy.

Recently, Apple has been very active in the country, from opening official stores to hiring. After the launch of Apple BKC, MoS Electronics, and IT, Rajeev Chandrashekhar tweeted that the Apple ecosystem has generated more than 1 lakh jobs in India and at the assembly front, the majority of the workers are women.

Recently, Apple completed 25 years of presence in India and recorded $6 Bn in sales from India. The majority of the sales were generated by iPhone, the production of which tripled to $7 Bn in FY23

Talking about the revenue generation in India, in February this year, Cook said, “I’m very bullish on India.” His statement is evident from the fact that recently, Apple announced the reshuffling of the leadership team to make India the key market.

In addition to Apple, its vendors have also been actively hiring and investing in India. Foxconn announced its plans to invest $500 Mn in its India unit and is also looking to invest nearly $200 Mn in its Telangana plant for Apple Airpods.

Apple’s contract manufacturer, Salcomp, is on a hiring spree and planning to double its headcount in India to 25,000 by 2026.
