Female hygiene brand Sanfe has raised INR 8 Cr in a Pre-Series A funding round from SucSEED Venture Partners, BIRAC, Elixir Pharma and Titan Capital, an investment arm of Snapdeal cofounders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal.

Saurabh Chawla (executive director of Finance and Strategy at GMR Infrastructure), Shankar Narayanan ((Cohead at Carlyle Asia Growth Partners), Sunil Kumar Singhvi (managing partner at South Handlooms Limited) and Rohit Chanana (Former president of Strategy and Finance at Hero Corporate Services) also invested in Sanfe’s funding round.

Founded in 2018 by IIT Delhi graduates Archit Aggarwal and Harry Sehrawat, Sanfe is a female hygiene brand that creates products such as stand-and-pee devices, intimate care products, panty liners, organic sanitary pads, pain relief roll-ons and menstrual cups. The company also plans to launch new products in the next two years.

Saurabh Chawla of GMR Infrastructure said, “The young feminine hygiene brand, Sanfe focuses on creating products keeping women wellbeing at the core. This investment strengthens our commitment of backing innovative business models that are aimed at becoming change aggregators for a better society and growth of the nation.”

Sanfe’s products are available at 1,500 outlets across India and ecommerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart and Nykaa. Besides that, Sanfe’s product line is also available in the US, Nepal and Kenya. The company is looking to take its products to European and African markets in the next phase.

With this funding, Sanfe is looking to strengthen its existing team, product research and development, and brand building.

Elaborating on the company’s plans for the funding, Aggarwal said, “Sanfe also intends to capture the pulse of the global feminine hygiene market by taking its success story to other parts of the world. The capital infusion will help us in category disruption and strengthen our product development, marketing and distribution.”

Previously, Sanfe raised seed funding from Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Biotechnology, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to support the branding and development of its products.

Vikrant Varshney, managing partner of SucSEED Venture Partners, said, “The feminine hygiene products market is expected to garner $42.7 billion by 2022. In the Indian feminine hygiene space, Sanfe is expecting a 300% growth by 2022 against the existing industry growth of 21% and we were keen to support them in the journey.”
