Meet 11 startups Selected for NUMA Accelerator Program

French accelerator, NUMA has announced the list of 11 startups that will be part of its first batch in Bangalore.

Paris-based NUMA has opened its new base in Bangalore by the name NUMA Bangalore, which is a joint venture between NUMA Paris and Metaform, and is the startup accelerators’ second international center after Moscow.

Numa will have a six month accelerator programme in Bangalore wherein the startups will be trained, nurtured and mentored by NUMA’s mentors and entrepreneur-in-residence. The startups will be offered operational, legal, marketing and other support along with co-working office space.

The selected startups will also  get  to meet domestic & international investors to pitch for  funding.

Here is the list of startups selected for the first batch of NUMA accelerator program

1Plify

1Plify is a global admission portal that allows students to directly connect with institutions of their choice around the world. 1Plify has partnered with institutions in the UK, France, Cyprus, India, Dubai, Vietnam and Philippines to avail hundreds of cource choice to students.

Courtside

Courtside is an online portal that allows users to book a playground through mobile. A person passionate about playing, can book slots on any listed sports grounds and play with their team.

FlippAR

FlippAR is into development of Augmented Reality Applications that brings alive advertisements, movie posters and pictures.

Full On Shaadi

Full on shaadi is an aggregator and marketplace for wedding industry, aims to revolutionise the way Indian families plan wedding and shop. It is an end-to end solution that offers everything from vendor discovery, shortlisting, booking vendors online to sophisticated tools needed to organise the wedding.

Najdik

Najdik.com, helps south Indians get regional groceries, home delivered in Gurgaon. The online portal connects customers with South Indian grocery stores and sweet shops in Delhi.

Piki

Piki is a platform for rapid market research. It connects businesses to their target audiences and gets survey results in hours, allowing for exponentially faster business decisions backed by data.

Smart Schools App

Smart Schools App connect parents to the day to day activities and other vital analysis of their children’s holistic development, helping them in participating better in their child’s development. It helps time crunched parents spend more time with their children in a meaningful manner, make data driven decisions to bring out the best in their little ones.

Men’s Room

MensRoom is an online platform built exclusively for Urban Indian men to buy smart, stylish menswear essentials and accessories.

Canvazify

Canvazify is a strategic brainstorming platform for innovative teams. It comes with predefined strategic templates to help teams collect, share, and act on ideas to achieve productive innovation.

Inkhorn

Inkhorn is a print on demand platform.

Svadhin

Svadhin provides independent living and fall prevention solutions to overcome accessibility challenges related to age, medical or physical conditions.

Besides, Airbus BizLab, a global aerospace business accelerator where startups and Airbus intrapreneurs work towards transforming ideas into businesses, has tied up with NUMA Bangalore. With this, Airbus will open a Bizlab in India as part of company’s effort to enhance its innovation process by introducing a global network of accelerator facilities called Airbus BizLabs.

Airbus BizLab too offers a six month accelerator programme wherein, the startups are given access to experts, venture capitalists and other mentors.

The collaboration will be symbiotic, wherein NUMA Bangalore will offer an entire floor of workspace to Airbus BizLab along with access to NUMA’s ecosystem of mentors, other startups, speakers and conferences. On the other hand, NUMA will receive mentorship and guidance from BizLab in their area of expertise.

Naresh Narasimhan, CEO of Numa Bangalore said, “We are sitting on a hotspot of startup activity and this is the right time to give direction to the young budding entrepreneurs in our country. We are starting our first batch with 12 brilliant young teams and hope to help them achieve their goals. We also look forward to more start-ups engaging with us in the coming batches. Also, our association with Airbus BizLab will certainly give both of us an insight into each others’ areas of expertise and will benefit us in our acceleration programmes respectively.”

The startups have been selected from over 200 applications. In Paris, NUMA has accelerated 103 startups. The sector agnostic accelerator also plans to open 15 worldwide centres in three years.
