With the spirit of bringing together an interdisciplinary perspective to find solutions for Smart Cities, Ashoka University and Indian School of Business (ISB) came together to create AIM Smart City accelerator. This is a Microsoft Partner Accelerator.

AIM Smart City organised meet-up events called ‘AIM Smart City – Startup Mixer’ for like-minded entrepreneurs in three major cities, viz. Bangalore, Delhi and Pune (on February 24, 26 and 27 respectively). The event, which happened in an unconference style, had startup founders and accelerators interact on their journeys, program structure, seed fund, investors, and network with other fellow entrepreneurs over drinks & food.

Arihant Jain, from Aim Smart City accelerator, talked about various elements of accelerator programmes. He talked about its offerings, mentors, investments, and government partnerships.

The event saw participation from  75+ startups and entrepreneurs from sector like healthcare, environment & sustainability, transport and artificial intelligence.

Arihant Jain said, “AIM Smart City accelerator will be extending support, from all partners to the startups to streamline and strengthen their products & services. It will also help in taking startups to the next level in terms of investments and customer base building.”

The AIM Smart City accelerator programme is aimed at identifying and supporting the best startups that are focused on providing a decent quality of life, a clean and sustainable environment, robust IT connectivity, or e-governance through smart solutions.

The accelerator is inviting applicants from startups working on smart city solutions in the areas of Education, Healthcare, Transport & Logistics and Infrastructure. The startups will be judged on financial viability, technical feasibility, desirability (to its target audience), sustainability of the solution and track record of the team.

More details can be viewed on the website. Startups can apply here. Last date for application is March 15, 2016.
