Last week, Jaipur-based incubator and accelerator Gensus Edutainers hosted its annual startup fest, Startup Chaupal.

During the event, startups, individuals, and venture capitalists came together for networking and to discuss potential opportunities for partnerships and investments.

The annual IT security expo and conference, it-sa India 2019 was also hosted last week to understand the trends in the IT industry and IT security services market in India. The event saw prominent experts such as Brijesh Singh, secretary and director general, Directorate General of Information and Public Relations for Maharashtra; Vinayak Godse, vice president at DSCI; Vishal Jain, partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India as the key speakers.

5th Smart Cities India Expo

In a bid to support the central government’s initiative of creating smart cities and technology hubs in the country, the India Trade Promotion Organisation and Exhibitions India Group is hosting the 5th Smart Cities India 2019 expo.

The event hosts 100+ startups in a dedicated pavilion with business and startups showcasing their solutions for smart cities, intelligent buildings, innovations in energy, transportation, utility management and more.

The participants would get an opportunity to network with experts and like-minded people in the smart city and smart buildings sector, and there’s also a chance to meet industry-specific investors at pitch sessions.

Inc42 & PayPal Webinar: How To Make A Career Of Your Calling

Online payment platform PayPal and Inc42 is all set to host our next webinar as a part of “The Rising Freelance Economy” series, this week. The theme will be around how to make a career of your calling.

During the webinar, we will be talking with Sujata Biswas and Taniya Biswas, the founders of Suta, who will be highlighting on how budding entrepreneurs can identify and follow their calling. The founders will also share their journey on how they made their calling into a successful career. They will also share their own experiences, challenges and the learning they garnered from this journey. Also, Deepa Madhavan, Director, Global Governance and Reg Tech, PayPal will also help guide the budding entrepreneurs.

Startup Weekend Madurai

Techstars is all set to host Startup Weekend at Madurai this week. The aim of the event is to build out a complete startup from the idea stage to examine its marketability and feasibility.

During the three-day event, participants will team up on business ideas after a round of pitching to the group. Each team will have to develop the ideas into a startup with a business model, do the requisite programming and designing, while also testing the market validation. The teams will then showcase their prototype and pitch their ideas to a jury of investors on the final day.

The winning team will get an opportunity to connect with investors and raise funding from Blaze Ventures and Madurai Angel Networks.
