The applications for Inc42’s BIGShift and Inc42 Founders Meetup are now live
Celebrating the rise and innovation of Indian startups in Tier 2 cities, BIGShift is an Inc42 initiative in association with DigitalOcean to enable, engage and empower entrepreneurship in smaller startup hubs. The idea is to celebrate, discover, connect the local startup ecosystem in India’s emerging Tier 2 startup hubs while empowering them through much-needed support from the ecosystem stakeholders.
Last week, Exhibit Magazine successfully hosted the 6th edition of its startup pitching summit — Exhibit’s 501 Startups on July 24 in Mumbai. The event received over 5K registrations, out of which 25 startups finally presented their business models in front of an eminent panel, comprising venture capitalists and investors.
The two winners at the pitching event included wearables tech startup Broadcast Wearables and HR tech startup ProMeTheUs.
Along with this, BITS Pilani’s Conquest Grand Finale 2019 was also organised last week on July 28. The grand finale witnessed pitches by the top 10 startups in front of investment firms and media houses.
As we step into a new week, here’s a list of new and upcoming events:
BIGShift, Nagpur
As part of the second leg of the latest edition of BIGShift, Inc42 will bring all the key local ecosystem stakeholders together over the course of an evening to celebrate innovation in the budding startup hub of Nagpur. Startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors and government officials will come together to discuss the state of the ecosystem in Tier 2 cities through dedicated sessions, keynotes, a panel discussion. The second leg of Inc42 BIGShift series this year will take place in Nagpur on August 3.
The highlight of the event is the BIGShift Pitch, a platform for startups to showcase their business proposition as well as products or services in front of the stalwarts from the startup community from each location. Any early stage startup based in any of the BIGShift host cities can apply to showcase their business proposition at the event.

SuperStartUps Asia, 2019
The third edition of SuperStartUps Asia is being organised by TiE Singapore and Grant Thornton this week. The event aims at recognising leaders in the Asian startup ecosystem. Post shortlisting eligible startup entries, over a Lakh citizens of the Internet – the netizens, give their opinions on the validity of the startups through a top online research platform. The top startups are then selected basis the choice of the internet voting.
A select group of winners will get to attend an event organised by TiE Singapore and present to investors there. In the past editions, the event has recognised startups such as SHEROES, PhonePe, ShopClues, Innov8, Droom, Netmeds, and Coverfox among others.

People Matters TechHR Startup Program
TechHR Startup Program invites early-stage startups in the HR and work tech space, to take the full opportunity and interact with investors, buyers and their peers during People Matters TechHR Conference and exhibit to the decision makers in the space of HR.
Startups will get a chance to participate in the conference and showcase at the Startup Zone for two days. These startups will also get the opportunity to be covered exclusively in the September 2019 issue of People Matters magazine.

Inc42 Founders Meetup
After engaging over 30 startup founders in the last edition, Inc42 is all set to bring you the eighth edition of the Founders Meetup event next month.
As usual, the Founders Meetup is the place to engage with over 50 startup founders, entrepreneurs and investors for an evening of networking, sharing knowledge, discussing challenges, and interacting with peers.
The guest speaker for this edition of the founders meetup is Nitin Saluja, cofounder of the tea cafe chain Chaayos. The Delhi NCR-based company was founded by Saluja and Raghav Verma in 2012. It has raised over $25 Mn in funding till now. Some key investors in the company include Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, Ankit Bhati and Tiger Global.
