Celebrating the Indian startups in Tier 2 cities, BIGShift is an Inc42 initiative in association with DigitalOcean to enable, engage and empower entrepreneurship in smaller startup hubs. The idea is to celebrate, discover, connect the local startup ecosystem in India’s emerging Tier 2 startup hubs while empowering them through much-needed support.
Last week, BIGShift was successfully hosted in Chandigarh with the presence of over 60 attendees and event partners such as Innovation Valley, dineout, Chandigarh Angel Networks and TiE Chandigarh.
Also, Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) has successfully organised its three editions across Hyderabad, Srinagar and Sikkim. EWC is organized by The Global Education & Leadership Foundation (tGELF) in India, in partnership with the Misk Global Forum and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN).
As we step into a new week, here’s a list of new and upcoming events:
BIGShift, Nagpur
As part of the second leg of the latest edition of BIGShift, Inc42 will bring all the key local ecosystem stakeholders together over the course of an evening to celebrate innovation in the budding startup hub of Nagpur. Startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors and government officials will come together to discuss the state of the ecosystem in Tier 2 cities through dedicated sessions, keynotes, a panel discussion. The first edition of BIGShift will take place in Nagpur on August 3.
The highlight of the event is the BIGShift Pitch, a platform for startups to showcase their business proposition as well as products or services in front of the stalwarts from the startup community from each location. Any early stage startup based in any of the BIGShift host cities can apply to showcase their business proposition at the event.

Inc42 Founders Meetup
After engaging over 30 startup founders in the last edition, Inc42 is all set to bring you the eighth edition of the Founders Meetup event next month.
As usual, the Founders Meetup is the place to engage with over 50 startup founders, entrepreneurs and investors for an evening of networking, sharing knowledge, discussing challenges, and interacting with peers.
The guest speaker for this edition of the founders meetup is Nitin Saluja, cofounder of the tea cafe chain Chaayos. The Delhi NCR-based company was founded by Saluja and Raghav Verma in 2012. It has raised over $25 Mn in funding till now. Some key investors in the company include Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, Ankit Bhati and Tiger Global.

Exhibit 501 Startups
Exhibit Magazine is organising the 6th edition of its prestigious startup pitching summit — Exhibit 501 Startups. Organised in association with IAN, NASSCOM, and TiE, the two-day conclave aims to bring to the forefront aspiring startups from the nooks and corners of the country. Startups will be curated from verticals across technology, sports, ecommerce, food, hospitality, travel and more.
Selected startups will pitch their ideas to a judges panel including venture capitalists and investors. The two-day conclave will recognise three winners, who will be felicitated with a prize amount from the venture capitalists.

SMARTup is a series of round table knowledge sharing and networking events being organised by ah! Ventures & meetingsandoffices.com as part of their endeavour to connect the startup fraternity and create valuable business centric conversations between domain specialists and entrepreneurs.
The event will hold discussions on topics such as angel tax, difference between artificial intelligence and machine learning, the art of networking, investor thesis and funding timing among other topics of interest to early stage startups.

Entrepreneurship World Cup
The Entrepreneurship World Cup, organized by The Global Education & Leadership Foundation (tGELF) in India, in partnership with the Misk Global Forum and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), provides a platform for local entrepreneurs to be recognized for their innovative capability and helps them expand their business ventures. Winning startups from the national competition will represent India at the Global Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and compete for global investments and prizes worth $5 Mn.
This week, EWC India reaches Bengaluru and Delhi, where select startups will pitch to investors and consultants such as Equanimity Investments and Dalberg.
