Inc42 AMA With Vivek Wadhwa

In the #16 episode of Inc42’s AMA show, we will have Vivek Wadhwa, the distinguished Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where he teaches classes on technology convergence, industry disruption, and the new rules of innovation, among others.

Vivek is an entrepreneur, researcher and a thought leader in technology who has been named one of the world’s ‘Top 100 Global Thinkers’ by Foreign Policy magazine and one of forty most influential minds in tech by TIME magazine’s list of ‘Tech 40’. He is also a syndicated columnist for The Washington Post and his writings regularly appear on Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Forbes and many other top publications.

In this AMA we’ll be talking to Vivek about three important topics:

Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Summit

As Flipkart-Cambridge Analytica, as well as Aadhaar data leak issues, have made their way into the country, the Indian government authorities, corporates as well as startups have started laying the groundwork for better cybersecurity measures.

The fourth Industrial Revolution is coming and India is accelerating its digital growth! There is a growing national focus on smart cities, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and a startling rise in digital payments and fintech adoption. Success in digital expansion requires robust and effective strategies to tackle growing cyber threats.

The Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Summit thus aims to take in views from cybersecurity experts and the Indian startup ecosystem stakeholders around the national impact of cybersecurity as well as the efforts of the AP Government in enhancing greater cyber resilience and security.

The objective of the summit is to bring together government representatives and stakeholders from across India and international jurisdictions to share their experiences on the various issues which they have faced and contextualising them for future responses. World IP Day Celebration

World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to get people interested in issues relating to intellectual property (IP) and to consider how it enables technological innovation that drives human progress.

WIPO promotes a theme each year to celebrate the innovation and creativity of human intellect. This year, honoring the women in innovation and creativity, the theme underlined by WIPO is “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity”.

The 2018 World Intellectual Property Day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future. It also is an opportunity to highlight how the IP system can support innovative and creative women (and indeed everyone) in their quest to bring their amazing ideas to market.
