Five of the 10 startups have received seed funding from investors at the TiE Hyderabad SmashUp. The five startups have received funding of INR10 Lakh each at the event against 8 per cent equity.
From the 200 startups that had applied, 10 with a working prototype made it to the Startup Heroes instant seed funding event. At the programme, they made a five-minute pitch to 10 investors. The final five are:
Enabli: a subscription-based service for B2C businesses like photographers, real-estate agents and wedding planners.
Yo Grad: a community for students to network, learn, and discuss with students from different colleges; mobile app.
Play Your Sport: a marketplace for sports and fitness.
Hostel Dunia: it provides information about hostels and paying guests accommodations.
CBS: which helps fetch data from different devices and sensors and provides smart solutions.
TiE Hyderabad president Safir Adeni said it was possibly for the first time that five startups had received funding at a single instant funding event. He added,”Initiative, innovation, incubation and investments for early stage and mature startups will be the focus for the TiE Hyderabad and will look at ramping up the five interest groups it had formed last year namely- technology and services, defense and manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences, education and skill development and clean technology.
