Gurugram-based female wellness startup Azah, on December 18, announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount in Pre-Series A from Titan Capital, which is an investment firm led by Snapdeal cofounders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal.

Angel List India and a few other HNIs also participated in this round. With this funding, Azah plans to expand its production, launch new products and expand its sales operations to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

“A good portion of the funding will go into research and development of these new products, while also helping us carry out further innovation in our current product line. We’ll also use the funding to expand our reach to newer demographics while exploring alternative channels to drive growth and acquisition. We plan to double our monthly revenue by the end of next quarter,” said, Azah’s cofounder, Aqib Mohammed.

Previously, the platform had raised 200K seed funding from a group of angel investors. The funding was used to expand the business and optimise supply chain management. Currently, Azah operates in four thousand pin codes across India and claims to have a strong customer base in Northeast states like Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.

In its media statement, Azah also clarified that even though the northern part of India has the biggest concentration of customers, the demand is spread across India. Azah has also claimed that it has a strong customer revisit case.

Founded in November 2018 by Aqib Mohammad and Shashwat Diesh, Azah focuses on delivering high-quality chemical-free products related to female wellness.

“Due to increasing consumer awareness around menstrual hygiene, people have begun to demand better products and newer homegrown brands have stood up well to the challenge of fulfilling this need, and that’s where Azah comes up,” added, cofounder Shashwat Diesh.

Azah’s products come in boxes of 12,15, and 30 sanitary pads and are available in two sizes — regular (280mm) and XL (320mm). The pads are packed in biodegradable disposable bag for hassle-free and environmentally friendly disposal. The company also provides free doorstep delivery on orders. According to media reports, Azah managed to sell more than 1,00,000 units in the first three months after its launch.
