Amid a boom in online gaming space, real money gaming (RMG) platform Zupee has partnered with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to bolster the reach of its skill-based games to a larger audience.
As part of the pact, Zupee is registered as a seller application on the platform, offering its popular Ludo game via the network.
Zupee said in a statement that the partnership will also aid its game developers to build trust around online gaming amid existing and future gamer population.
The Gurugram-based company also said that this agreement will empower ONDC and Zupee to expand their reach, accelerate customer acquisition, and provide even greater value to their growing user base.
Founded in 2018 by Dilsher Singh and Siddhant Saurabh, Zupee is a gaming platform which offers casual and board games like ludo, trump cards and snake & ladder online, as a move to redefine the real money gaming space.
The company counts the likes of marquee investors such as WestCap Group, Tomales Bay Capital, Nepean Capital, AJ Capital, Matrix Partners India & Orios Venture Partners.
Zupee’s valuation stands at $600 Mn, as of January 2022.
This partnership comes at a time when ONDC has stretched its space to collaborate with various business sectors such as fintech, banking, mobility, hyperlocal delivery, and more.
Recently, enterprise tech startup Adya.ai, one of the technology service partners for ONDC, partnered with Google Cloud to roll out a platform for boosting ONDC’s adoption among enterprises, in August.
“The integration of Zupee, one of the largest skill-based online gaming companies in India, on ONDC Network will be a critical step to strengthen the open and diverse digital marketplace,” T Koshy, managing director and chief executive at ONDC said.
“Zupee’s integration on ONDC Network will not only facilitate offering of value entertainment to larger users in India but also allow them to access a wider range of products and services at a right price from a single, unified platform,” he added.
