Revolt Launches AI-Enabled Electric Bike RV 400

Micromax cofounder Rahul Sharma’s startup Revolt Intellicorp has unveiled its AI-enabled electric motorcycle RV 400, yesterday on June 18. Along with a range of 156 Km and four hours charging time, RV 400 will also be connected to a Revolt mobile app.

This app will enable the rider to remote start/stop the bike, search Revolt’s mobile battery  swap stations, change motorcycle sound and volume, and access real-time bike diagnostics among other features.

Speaking at the launch, Sharma said, “RV 400, is our first product from the Revolt Intellicorp stable. It challenges the general convention that all electric vehicles need to be silent or sound the same every day.”

“With our technological expertise, we are betting big on developing a connected ecosystem which will be an integral part of all our products,” he added.

RV 400 Specifications And More

Revolt Intellicorp claimed that it will have a connected ecosystem across Delhi, wherein riders can swap their battery at Revolt mobile swap stations. Riders will also have the option to charge the battery in at their home or office by plugging the motorcycle’s portable battery into any 15 ampere socket.

Further, the Revolt app brings multiple connectivity features to RV 400 including bike locator, door-step battery delivery, geofencing with theft control feature, payment gateway integration for battery swaps and others. The app is available on both android and iOS.

The electric motorcycle will be available for pre-bookings in Delhi from June 25. From June 25, Delhi customers will be able to pre-book the motorcycle against a deposit of INR 1K. This will be later followed by Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad,  and Chennai in the next four months. All pre-bookings will be exclusively done through Revolt’s website and Amazon.

Revolt Intellicorp Eyeing Double Digit Market Share

Earlier this April, Sharma has announced the launch of Revolt Intellicorp Pvt. Ltd with a personal investment of about INR 400-500 Cr. Gurgaon-based company has a manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. The facility boasts a production capacity of 120K vehicles commissioned for Phase 1.

At that time, Sharma had said that the company is targeting double-digit market share in the automobile industry and not just the electric vehicles segment. Sharma also shared that the company has a slew of products lined up for a launch to disrupt the segment.

India is the second-largest motorcycle market in the world, with sales dominated by basic commuters. More than 20 Mn two-wheelers were sold to domestic customers in 2017 – 18, making it the most popular vehicle category sold in India.

Another automobile company, Tork Motors have developed a cloud connected customisable electric motorcycle T6X, which is expected to be launched later this year. Tork’s motorcycle is said to have a range of 100 Km and will effectively cost INR 28 for one full charge as per the current electricity rates.
