“UI is the saddle, the stirrups, and the reins. UX is the feeling you get being able to ride the horse.”
— Dain Miller, Web Developer
Creating a product that fulfils users’ needs is not good enough in today’s world. The real challenge lies in making a product that provides at least 10x better experience compared to your competition. The concept behind user experience, or UX, is a simple one. It is all about enriching a user’s experience through a simplified and easy-to-use interface to encourage more interaction.
With thousands of decisions getting implemented in the framework, layout, visual design, typography and animation, the UX design can become a tricky thing to tread. Even after creating a perfectly fluid interface that hides all backend complexities and presents a smooth and engaging UX, a user may not be able to find the right way to use it. Or the way a user approaches the interface could be completely different than what was intended by the developer.
Yet, a good UX will cut down recurring development costs, increase user retention rate and grow customer loyalty. But the question is: How to master the user experience? Or, in other words: How to 10x your UX?
As a precursor to The Makers Summit, to be held in March 2021, Inc42 is hosting a series of masterclasses called The Maker Circle on various aspects of product, design and marketing.
In the first masterclass, Shesh Vasudevamurthy, product leader and mentor, took us through the ins and outs of working in a high-paced, growth-oriented environment. In the second masterclass, Sruthi Sivakumar, head of design for shared mobility startup Bounce, explained the frameworks for redesigning products and the nuances of product design. Now, we are all set to present our third session.
This time, Saptarishi Prakash, senior product design manager at food delivery giant Swiggy, will simplify the complexities of product design and speak in detail about the impact of UX and UI on user behaviour. The session will be held on February 13.
Here are the key takeaways one can expect from the third Maker Circle Masterclass:
- Learn to build an experience that syncs with a user’s natural frequency
- Understand how to make UX desirable by tapping into “not so important things”
- Improve design with animations which have purpose and style
- Learn to use motion animation to create an impactful UX
- Understand the power of atomic changes in UX design
Remember this is just the third session of a 10-part masterclass series.
What Inc42 Brings To Masterclass Participants
The Maker Circle series is an interactive learning experience, and each masterclass is designed to give attendees a deep insight into the world of makers. It also paves the path towards TMS, to be held on March 12-14, to let you know what to expect from the sessions of the main event.
The Makers Summit 2021 will be India’s largest conference, featuring more than 10,000 product founders, leaders and makers working at the intersection of product, marketing and design. These luminaries of the industry and the best talent that India has to offer will share their collective wisdom and experience with India’s budding maker community, tech enthusiasts and business leaders.
